Court Grants Journalist Agba Jalingo Bail

A Federal High court sitting in Calabar, on Thursday morning, allowed bail to the confined columnist, Agba Jalingo.

Equity Sule Shuaibu, allowed him N10m bail after he had gone through 174 days in detainment in both the police cell and Calabar jail.

It would be reviewed that Mr Jalingo, the distributer of CrossRiverWatch, was captured on August 22, 2019, over a report claiming that Cross River State representative, Ben Ayade, occupied N500 million having a place with the state.

While allowing the bail, the court approached that those remaining as surety for the columnist must make a refundable store of N700,000 to court vault to consummate the bail.

Mr Jalingo was before denied bail twice by another judge, Simon Amobeda, who as of late pulled back from the case after a mystery recording where he (Amobeda) purportedly made some "one-sided" comments against Mr Jalingo, was spilled to the press toward the end of last year.
