North West stepped out at Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City and was seen rocking a long high ponytail with a single braid down the middle parting.
Although North beamed as she looked over the moon with her new look, some fans were left unsettled by mum Kim and rapper dad Kanye West's decision to straighten the newly turned five year old’s naturally curly locks.
She was seen in the following days with a sleek straight down style and another high ponytail.
In tweets obtained by Glamour, one fan tweeted to complain: “I really hate how the kardashians keep straightening that poor baby’s hair tho. North west gonna have heat damage before she’s 10…”
“Ugh at the amount of people exclaiming that North West is gorgeous because she straightened her hair and she’s only 5. This kinda s**t destroyed my self image and perception of my curls my whole life. I’m so sad,” another commented.
One user even went as far as to call North’s new hair a fetish, telling their followers: “Can y’all stop fetishizing North West. Her momma shouldn’t have straighten that baby’s hair.”
However, some of Kim’s followers are in awe of the infant’s new Ariana Grande inspired locks.
“North west with her hair straightened looks older than me. Like how can a 5 year old be so good looking,” one fan asked.
Whilst another added: “OMG why are you all so concerned on what Kim is doing with her daughter’s hair? Have you ever thought maybe North wanted her hair to look like her mom’s? It’s none of your business how she does North’s hair.”
