THE SCENE:A vast salon at Grand Palais. Many in the audience were clad in Sacai - this is a favourite brand of fashion's inner circle.
THE COLLECTION:Sacai is known for combining two garments to create something new. For spring/summer 2018, she took that concept further, making hybrids of multiple pieces rather than just two. So, jackets looked like collages of a man's check blazer, a sporty cagoule, a camo coat and a rain mac. Trousers followed similar suit, crafted from intricate patchworks. Lingerie silks, lamé and ripstop nylon melded for short party dresses. Another aspect to the collection was versatility, with jackets designed to be worn several different ways - on the body, hanging from inner harnesses or tied around the bust like a sash.
THE BEAUTY:Casual, with middle-parted hair tied into a low ponytails and minimal make-up.
THE SYNOPSIS:Sacai's hybrid look expands, develops and evolves without losing track of its DNA.
