Three site workers sustained injuries yesterday when a section of a four story building collapsed around Sulu Gamabari Road, Ilorin, Kwara State...
There were several workers on the site when the incident happened. The incident, which first sent panic among residents of the area, occurred about 10am.

There were initial fears about the impact of the collapse on people but the police and workers on site later confirmed that nobody died from the incident. Unconfirmed sources claimed that the Town Planning Department of the Ministry of Housing had earlier warned the developer about the need to make certain adjustments to the structure and that the workers were carrying out a restructuring work on the site to conform with the official observation when the building collapsed.

Those injured were said to be working on the site when the incident happened and were immediately taken to hospital where they were still being treated as at the time of filing this report One of the workers at the site who helped with the rescue work said: “We thank God that it was not a very serious problem and there was no casualty”.
