He passed away Saturday evening in Abuja, hours after the burial of the late former governor.
Babangida had been rushed to the nation’s capital last week for treatment.
His brother, Suntai died on June 28 in Orlando, Florida, United States while undergoing rehabilitation for brain injuries he sustained during a plane crash on October 25, 2012.
His remains were laid to rest on Saturday in his hometown, Suntai in Bali Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Darius Ishaku described the late Suntai, as an epitome of humility with great sense of humor and passion for the development of the state
