Vanguard is reporting
that the whereabouts and destination of President Muhammadu Buhari’s
Presidential jet in London, that departed from the country, could not be
ascertained, which consequently caused anxiety within the Presidential
Villa .
The Presidency, is said
to have denied having awareness of the development, as both Media Aides
to the President, Femi Adesina and Garba Lawal, claimed such news should
be regarded as a rumour.
Adesina who denied
knowledge of the development according to Vanguard said: “BBC also
called me and said the President’s aircraft had taken off, I should
confirm it.
”I said the tradition is
that if the President is coming, we will be asked to issue a statement,
but there has been no such instruction.”
Vanguard however
submitted that: “As at the time of filing this report, there was no
confirmation to the effect that the Presidential aircraft had left
London, and there was no movement within the Presidential Villa, to
support the rumour.”
Post-Nigeria recalls
also, that it costs a whopping £4,000 every 24-hours, to use a parking
lot in London, for the Presidential jet.
This had raised concerned in the minds of Nigerians, as to why the aircraft is ‘waiting’ for the President to get well.
Some also concluded that
if the aircraft is in a parking lot, waiting for the President to be
fine, it means the crew members are also in London.
