 Alyssa is the first woman of Tlingit Alaska Native/American Indian heritage to be crowned Miss Alaska USA and has been named the Cultural Ambassador of the Sealaska Heritage Institute.
  She graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and then went to work with Microsoft. Today Alyssa is a motivational speaker, radio and tv host and business owner. Alyssa founded Culture Story—a business through which she sells her own products featuring Tlingit Alaska Native/ American Indian designs—and she plans to use the company to showcase the work of artists and vendors. Alyssa was the first Alaskan woman to make the cut at Miss USA since 1990!
