His preliminary for the supposed contamination of a five-year-old young lady slowed down on Thursday because of the nonattendance of barrier counsel.
The police accused Salaudeen of polluting the kid who was under his tutelage on December 22, 2018, inside the premises of the Olorunbabe Mosque situated at No. 15, Palace Road, Igando, Lagos.
The preliminary was to initiate on Thursday with two observers, the five-year-old young lady, and Mr. Ebenezer Omijalele, an individual from a Non-Governmental Organization.
Responding to the improvement, Mr. Akin George, a Deputy-Director I the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and the lead state examiner for the situation, told the court that the safeguard council didn't educate the arraignment that he would not be available.
"My ruler, at the last sitting, the resistance counsel Mr. M.O. Nasir was available in court and we both concurred on the present date. I am confused why Nasir didn't come to court and furthermore didn't compose ahead to educate my ruler about his nonattendance today. We have observers in court who can't affirm because of the nonattendance of the protection counsel," George said.
Equity Abiola Soladoye suspended the case until January 16, 2020, for preliminary.
The litigant, dwelling at No. 16, Awoyemi St., Ikotun, Lagos was charged on June 24. He argue not blameworthy to a charge of pollution and was remanded in jail. Salaudeen was purportedly observed by suspicious people sodomizing the youngster by means of the film of a concealed camera that was introduced inside the premises of the mosque.
As per the arraignment, the offense contradicts the arrangements of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015 which endorses a lifelong incarceration for anybody saw as liable of polluting a youngster.
