Abuja Court Admits Video Evidence Against Senator Abbo

An Abuja Magistrate Court sitting in Zuba yesterday conceded two circles from a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) film and Certificate of Compliance as proof in the preliminary of Senator Elisha Abbo. 


Abbo was on July 8, 2019, charged by the police for offenses verging on supposed criminal power and ambush which is in opposition to segment 263 and 264 of corrective code law. 

In conceding the electronic produced proof, Magistrate Abdullahi Illelah held that the shows were significant and, consequently, acceptable in law. 

"It is left to the court to decide whether a specific record or show offered before it consents to prerequisite of the law or not. 

"The court thus concedes the announcements of Abbo and restorative report which the ostensible complainant acquired from Mega EyeSight as shows in the preliminary," he said. 

Allah dismissed the issue until January 9, 2020, for the continuation of hearing while at the same time holding that the bail allowed Abbo to proceed on similar terms and conditions. 

The indictment counsel, Mr. James Idachaba, offered the shows during that time arraignment witness, Mary Daniel. 

The observer told the court that she was connected to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), FCT Police Command and was the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) for the situation against Abbo. 

Daniel asserted that on May 14, the instance of criminal power and ambush in opposition to segment 262, 263 and 264 of the Penal Code Law was accounted for at Maitama Divisional Station by the ostensible complainant, Ms. Anyata Wormate. 

She included that the case was moved to the FCT Police Command and it was appointed to her to explore. In this way, she went to the area of the wrongdoing at Pleasure Chest Shop, FA45, Banex Plaza. 

As indicated by her, the shop was then bolted and Mr. Onyekachi Chukwu disclosed to her that the proprietor of the shop went out of Abuja. 

On July 3, the greeting letter was sent to the ostensible complainant and the litigant through the Clerk of the National Assembly. 

"On July 4, the intentional illustrative explanation was gotten from the ostensible complainant and the litigant likewise gave his announcement under alert and the respondent was later allowed abandon that day," she said.
