The CAN President, Dr. Samson Ayokunle approached the National Assembly to drop the bills and spotlight on enactment that could address instability, terrible infrastructural luxuries and the general welfare of the individuals.
This was contained in an announcement by the National Director, Legal and Public Affairs, CAN, Evang. Samuel Kwamkur in Abuja on Thursday.
It stated, "These two bills have produced hesitations and reactions that they have prompted extraordinary strain and fears among residents.
"Having seen all sides to the discussion, CAN is approaching the National Assembly, especially the President of the Senate and every single recognized Senator to disapprove the two bills and put off totally any consideration to pass them into Acts of the National Assembly as true admirers of the country."
While recognizing that people and associations had exploited online networking to make colossal harm people and organizations, the Christian body portrayed this as "deplorable improvements in the utilization of innovation."
The affiliation contended that there were sufficient laws to check the overabundances of people and associations that were abusing the online networking and proliferating despise addresses.
"The Penal Code, Criminal Code, Cyber Crime Act and other legitimate arrangements on wrongdoings that manage despise addresses, slander, defamation and comparative offenses are clear and sufficient," it noted.
CAN say it was worried that Nigerians were occupied from talking about topical issues that had an immediate bearing on their endurance and prosperity, for example, destitution, defilement, and the arrangement of good wellbeing offices.
Ayokunle expressed, "In this shrewd, we want that legislatures at all levels and undoubtedly individuals from the National Assembly give more noteworthy consideration to the issues of uncertainty, financial hardship, destitution, terrible streets, poor training and the lack of framework."
