Senate President in reaction to the incident, called for improved security within the National Assembly premises. According to the senate president, the attack on the red chambers by the thugs, was an assault on democracy and the rule of law.
In an apparent response to Saraki's call for improved security, the National Assembly this morning witnessed heavy presence of police and DSS operatives. While there were regularly dressed police operatives, the DSS operatives were spotted wearing full combat gear and face masks.
Even the number of DSS men guarding the Senate President has been increased from what previously obtained with all of them wearing face masks.
