21st century.
Notwithstanding, research has shown that most arranged marriages turn out to be more successful than we least expect when compared to love marriages; while 40-50% of the normal marriages end in divorce, only 4% of arranged marriages end on the same note.
Ordinarily, the relationship between couples in a usual marriage is primarily based on love; they start to feel their love dwindling as time goes by while the couples in arranged marriages as time goes by start to develop affection for each other. The question to be raised is “why do marriages turn out to be this way?”
Arranged marriages are prepared on specific grounds which includes important family traits, family circumstances, life goals in focusing on how compatible the couples could be.
Hence, it takes plenty of time to get this done by whoever it is arranging the marriage and it helps to foster a serious level of determination, commitment; knowing fully well that their union was based on their parent's decision, emotional development; love since they both have taken a conscious decision to stay together.
Love marriages, on the other hand, is a product of choice on the part of the couples involved and it could be dissolved easily since there are no specific and significant grounds on which it is based. Love marriages are passion motivated and often times this might be for a temporary moment while the growing love in arranged marriages takes so long a time to dwindle.
Often times couples in loving marriages are inclined to fantasizing about their love that they fail to focus on reality; they seem to be too engrossed with the happily ever after and falling in love scheme in toons that they do not consider the backbone upon which their love is implanted, so when they no longer feel this anymore, they feel the need for separation.

Remember, marriage is the first institution established by God and it is not intended to fail, make your marriage purposeful, set determination grounds and make a decision to love your spouse in every situation.
