A father found himself stumped after his young son got his head stuck between two metal bars while playing on a construction site in Brazil.
Arthur Gardine, two, got his head stuck between the poles and his father Rodrigo could not figure out how to free him.
Mr Gardine and several other family members from Serra, Espirito Santo, in southeastern Brazil, spent hours trying to prize the bars apart before finally figuring it out.
At one stage Mr Gardine even thought of calling the fire service out for help.
Instead of forcing his son's head through the bars the most logical approach was to take the toddler back the same way he had entered.
A laughing Mr Gardine admitted: 'It took me over two hours to figure out that all our efforts were a waste of time. It was just a matter of physics and a simple solution.
'Arthur hadn't entered head first through the bars at all. We had been tackling the problem completely the wrong way.
'All we had to do was take him out the same way he had gone in. And that meant turning Arthur sideways by the shoulders and slipping him through the bars.
'It was so basic I'm ashamed to say it took so long, but relieved my son was unharmed.'
The video, recorded in April this year, recently came to light and has garnered over 200,000 shares on social media with many agreeing that while the footage is hilarious, it should never have taken so long for the child to be freed.
