A requirement is to actually be tall and beautiful That is actually true, so that the passengers feel safe..Personally I think it's a bit harsh to criticize airlines for weight requirements. Most people seem to have the wrong idea, but the reason behind this is actually because flight attendants have to be able to fit through small spaces such as emergency exits in the event of an emergency....
Another reason is because being overweight or obese may restrict the flight attendant's ability to move through the aisle/cabin on the plane, thus affecting their ability to do their job. These reasons are both also reason why height restrictions may be placed on airline employees.
