Britain has been battered with 40ft waves this morning as Storm Brian descended on the south western parts of the UK.
Gusts of wind reaching up to 70 mph are sweeping across south Wales and south west England after a 'weather bomb' formed over the Atlantic Ocean two days ago.
Dramatic images show the waves crashing against the coastline in Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and Porthcawl, south Wales, as people watch on.
Forecasters have issued warnings for potential power cuts, flooding and delays to transport as families begin their half-term holiday from Monday.
