Six Super Bowl Performances We're Still Talking About...Fow Entertainmentnews...On Fow24news.com

As Justin Timberlake confirms that he will return to the Super Bowl stage in February (14 years after he was involved in one of the most famous onscreen wardrobe mishaps ever) for the always-anticipated halftime performance, we look back at six standout moments from past shows - from Beyoncé to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry to the Jacksons....

 Beyoncé

Queen B has twice appeared at the Super Bowl. The first time, in 2013, she delighted the audience with a Destiny's Child reunion, which saw her joined by former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Her second performance took a more serious stance, when she took to the stage with Bruno Mars and Coldplay in 2016, and gave a strong political message with her then-new single, Formation. Her backing dancers, clad in black leather, were photographed after the performance posing with raised fists, reminiscent of the black power salute that Tommie Smith and John Carlos gave at the Olympic Games in 1968.

Lady Gaga
Keen to give the extravaganza expected of her, Lady Gaga began her 2017 Super Bowl set 79 metres above the crowd with several hundred drones hovering behind her, twinkling like stars before adopting the formation of the American flag. She performed a swan dive from the roof onto a towering structure in the middle of the audience, as well as an array of aerial acrobatics in front of the thrilled stadium. To finish? She caught a football and jumped off the stage onto the field as they roared their appreciation.

Michael Jackson
One of the earliest star performers at the Super Bowl, Michael Jackson gave a high-octane show in 1993. The King Of Pop proved he knew exactly how to work an audience, standing still and silent on stage for nearly a full two minutes before he burst into his first song, letting the crowd go crazy for him.

Katy Perry
In true Katy Perry style, her show in 2015 wasn't short of eye-catching moments - beginning with her arriving on a mechanical lion and ending with fireworks (guess the finale song). Despite this, the singer was somewhat upstaged by one of her backing dancers. "Left Shark", as he became known, drew much attention for appearing to forget the routine, the video of which subsequently went viral. Perry paid tribute to the unlikely hero when she was nominated for an Emmy for her halftime show, tweeting: "Woke up to my first Emmy nomination for the Halftime show!!! V proud of everyone involved especially #leftshark."

Diana Ross
If anyone knows how to make an exit, it's Diana Ross. Her 1996 performance at the Super Bowl finished with The Supremes singer announcing, "Oh, here comes my ride!" as a helicopter landed to whisk her away with her crew, leaving the crowd going wild for a finale fit for a diva.

Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake
Yes, it has gone down in history as perhaps the most memorable wardrobe malfunction of all time. It was 2004 and Justin Timberlake ripped off part of Janet Jackson’s outfit during his halftime show, briefly exposing her right breast and resulting in broadcaster CBS receiving a record fine.
