Senior Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault Of Minor

A sexagenarian, Francis Olamide, on Monday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, charged with sexual assault of an 8- year-old girl.....

Olamide, 67, a retiree who resides at 33, Morebise St., Ayobo, Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the accused committed the offense on Sept. 23 at his residence.
Ogu said that the man called his neighbors daughter into his room on the pretext of sending her on an errand.
He said the retiree put his finger into her private part and told her not to tell anyone, adding that the act resulted in the girl bleeding from her private. The prosecutor said that when the minor could not bear the pain anymore she told her mother and the accused was consequently arrested.
He said that the offense contravened Section 135(1) (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrates, Mrs. Taiwo Akanni, admitted the accused to bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Akanni adjourned the case until Nov. 22 for mention.
