No reason was mentioned as of press time why Miss International Thailand did not conduct a contest this year.
Chookaew stands 178 cm and is a freshman student majoring in Economics and Business Administration at the prestigious Thaksin University. She represented Phatthalung Province at the Miss Grand Thailand 2017 contest, where she emerged as one of the Top 12 semifinalists.
Thailand is currently the lone country to enjoy an unbroken semifinal streak since 2013. It is hoping to win its first title. The Southeast Asian kingdom almost won the crown in 2010 with Piyaporn Deejing.
