The Tin Can Island Port Command of the
Nigeria Customs Service says it has handed over to the National Agency
for Food, Drug Administration and Control two containers falsely
declared as containing vehicles and computer accessories.....
The service said instead of three used
vehicles, cartons of makeup kits, 850 cartons of computer accessories
(keyboard and mouse), declared in the manifest, 240 cartons of Tramadol
Hydrochloride, 240 cartons of Double Extra Strong Tramadol, 240 cartons
of Super Power Tramadol Hydrochloride, 70 cartons of Ibamol and 60
cartons of Really Extra Analgesique were found in the containers.
A statement issued by the Public
Relations Officer of the Customs command, Uche Ejesieme, on Wednesday
stated that the seizure was sequel to the latest operational methodology
adopted by the command through profiling, cargo selectivity and system
checks of the advance electronic manifest.
It quoted the Area Controller of the
command, Bashar Yusuf, as saying that the command was adopting the

The containers were said to have been
flagged following some reported discrepancies in the documentation and
