The trio of Super Eagles players, Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo have fired warning shots to the Fences of Algeria as they scored for their various clubs.....
KAA Gent winger, Simon scored his first
league goal of the season, as his club forced home side, KV Kortrijk to a
1-1 draw at the Guldensporen Stadion,
The winger, who grabbed an assist last
week, opened scoring in the 60th minute when he controlled a pass on his
left foot before smashing a low drive past the goalkeeper to put his
side 1-0 up and scoring his first goal this season in the Belgian
league.
The results leaves KAA Gent 12th on the
log with 10 points from 11 games and only leads Ajagun’s Kortrijk who is
13th with the same number of points on goal difference.
It was also good news for Eagles as,
centre back, Chidozie Awaziem scored his first goal of the season in FC
Nantes 2-1 home win to Guingamp.
The defender opened scoring nine minutes
of play when he headed in a corner kick from Leo Dubois to put Nantes
ahead, to the delight of him and his teammates.
Awaziem on -loan to Nantes from Porto,
tried to score another when he flashed an effort wide in the second half
as Nantes went in search of the match winner. However, it was Abdoulaye
Toure who calmed the home team’s nerves when he scored the winner with
six minutes from time.
Changchun Yatai made it back-to back wins
in the Chinese Super League after beating Jiangsu Suning FC 3-1 in the
Chinese Super League on Sunday, with in-form Nigerian striker, Odion
Ighalo writing his name on the score-sheet again.
The Eagles striker has scored 15 league
goals from 26 starts, and he’s among the top five strikers in China at
the moment, statistically speaking.
Last weekend, Ighalo made himself
available for selection for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against
Algeria and the high-profile friendly versus Argentina on November 14.
Super Eagles will take on Algeria’s
Fennces on November 10, in their final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at
