she proved she’s back with a bang. For her red-carpet comeback, the British actress looked to fashion powerhouse Gucci for a glitzy look that would not only turn heads, but pack a gutsy sartorial punch. Hailing from Alessandro Michele’s resort 2018 collection, which saw the magpie designer take on an ancient classical theme, the full catwalk look came with turquoise tights and golden wreaths that Mulligan chose to leave at home.
Instead of Michele’s trinkets and the flashy resort pieces that read "Guccy, Guccification, and Guccify Yourself", the mother-of-two relied on her new ash-blonde bob to lift her gold-flecked Gucci. She’s not afraid of stepping outside the conventional red-carpet box – remember the custom-made Prada gown covered in tiny forks and spoons she wore at the 2010 Oscars? – but, for now, she’s back to the Gatsby glamour that suited her so well under Baz Luhrmann’s spell.
