He described himself as the solution to poor governance and mismanagement in the state.
Arab who was born in 1989 is an Indigene of Okoroba community in Nembe Local Government Area of the state.
While declaring his intention on Monday in the Okaka Area of Yenagoa, Arab said that his action on 57th anniversary and 21st anniversary of Nigeria and Bayelsa State was strategic and a declaration of the independence of youths from the political clutches of older politicians.
He said that the era of youths being offered money to hijack ballot boxes and shoot one another is over, stressing that “now is the time for the youths to show the elderly politicians that we possess the capacity and numbers to defeat them in an election and govern the state.
“With all the big names we have in Bayelsa and years of political governance, the state is still backward and underdeveloped. I have brought myself out to end hunger, delay in salary and pension payment, Illegal arrest and killings. I will be a detribalised governor. I am the solution to the problems of the state,” Arab said.
He said that he had not chosen a political platform yet to actualise his governorship aspiration, saying he was consulting with stakeholders and numerous stakeholders.
In their solidarity speeches, the governor of the Bayelsa FaceBook Community, Chief Esueya Adolphus and a member of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Hon. Robert Igali, commended the boldness of Arab and urged the youths to ensure a youthful governor is voted into office in the next election.
