Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Collection..Fashionweekly..On Fow24news.com

It's been a year since Dame Vivienne Westwood and her husband Andreas Kronthaler decided to officially divide the design duties at the brand....
Saturday was his turn to take the helm, presenting his Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood collection (she designs the Vivienne Westwood line).
Now 50, Kronthaler is reaching a time in his life of self confidence and self acceptance. Backstage he talked of being young and wanting to change his name to something more interesting like Maximilian or Augustus. "I did not like my name and where I come from. I wanted to come from somewhere like Rome. Today I’m okay with it all. This I want to express with the collection." Kronthaler got personal for Spring and embraced his Tyrollean roots. As he described the process of working on the collection a fascinating picture of Westwood and Kronthaler's 25-year marriage and design partnership emerged. The pair spent summer travelling and researched much of the fabrication and silhouette at Kronthaler's chalet in the Tyroll, surrounded by their herd of cows - one named Naomi, another Donatella and Vivienne, "I helped deliver her," said Westwood, who is dressed in a dirndl designed by her husband, but made by the house of Tostmann. Experts in Austrian folk dress, they created several pieces for the collection. "They're made in a very traditional manner but they have a twist though," he said, pointing to a white moiré silk version with a deep décolleté. "They're so enhancing," he said.
