The suspects, Chinedu Nwoke, prevalently known as Assa, 32, and Uzoma Okafor, 30, were captured in Owerri on Saturday.
A senior police source told our reporter that the suspects were overwhelmed at the Control Post pivot in Owerri after a weapon duel with the F-SARS agents.
The source stated, "We have captured the most needed hijackers, equipped looters and killers around the local area. Chinedu Nwoke, prevalently known as Assa, is 32 years of age and he is from Ezioha Umuduru in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.
"The other suspect is Uzoma Okafor of Number 10, Old Nekede Road, Owerri. They were captured at Control Post Roundabout by the F-SARS agents following a tip-off.
"On locating the F-SARS Commander, CSP Victor Godfrey, and his men, the criminals, who had been needed by the police for quite a while, opened fire, yet they were overwhelmed.
"One privately made gun with two unexpended cartridges and one exhausted cartridge were recouped. A dark Nissan Pathfinder with enlistment number – KTU 824 FD – was likewise recouped.
"It is imperative to take note of that amid the weapon fight, the presumes maintained discharge wounds. They have been taken to a healing center for restorative consideration.
"One of the suspects, prevalently known as Assa, had supposedly perpetrated numerous violations. He is asserted to have slaughtered four people distinguished as Orufe, Ogbuno, Obarammuo and Kwabaiko. He was said to have assaulted and executed policemen in Oru East before."
Affirming the improvement, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said that the network policing systems of the Inspector General of Police, which he said was being actualized by his Command, were yielding organic products in the state.
