Oyo State Introduces Levies On Churches, Mosques, Businesses

Senator Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Tuesday presented requires on holy places, mosques, and different business associations in the state. 


These tolls, as per the state government, were forced as a feature of endeavors to create assets to help security offices. 

The classifications of these duties were contained in flyers made accessible to writers at a crisis meeting assembled by the state government which was held at the House of Chiefs, Parliament Building, Secretariat, Ibadan on Tuesday. 

At the gathering were the state official of police, Abiodun Odude; delegates of the GOC of 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Odogbo Ibadan; police territory commandants, DSS, Customs, NSCDC, NDLEA, CEOs of banks and agents of Manufacturing Association of Nigeria. 

The Flyers acquired by PREMIUM TIMES showed that religious bodies in class An are required to pay N60,000 while assembling and administrations in classification An are to pay N100,000 every year. 

The endorsed duties for class A (Large) in the assembling area is N100,000 while class B (Medium) is N80,000 and class C (Small) is N60,000 every year. 

The rest are those in the administrations. Class An are to pay N100,000, class B is N80,000 while class C will pay N60,000 every year. 

Those in class An, exchanging, farming and ranger service and strong minerals are to pay N80,000 while those in the classes B and C are to pay N50,000 and N30,000 individually every year. 

Different religious bodies including holy places and mosques were requested to pay N60,000, N40,000 and N20,000 for classes A, B and C separately. 

The notice said that installment of the above tolls are important to help the state government to guarantee lives and property are ensured. 

"This is to ensure the overall population that OYSSTF, in compatibility of its statutory capacity to keep on helping security offices, is setting out on the execution of the law (OYSSTF AMENDMENT LAW 2017) as of late consented by His Excellency, Oyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
