As per Saharareporters, the candidates in the issue said leading races on Saturday adds up to the infringement of their rights to love and disappointment of different individuals from their congregation.
In the suit, PHC/2836/2018, the candidates supplicated the court to proclaim that holding races on Saturday, the love day for the section, is an infringement of the Seventh Day Adventist Church individuals rights.
"A statement that the candidates' known day of love being Saturday, they are qualified for their opportunity of religion and love on Saturdays unhindered or using any and all means, at all, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as corrected).
"A presentation that the settling/planning of 2019 presidential and National Assembly races on Saturday, February 16, 2019, and the governorship and state Assembly decisions/Federal Capital Territory (FCT) committee races on Saturday, March 2, by the principal respondent, working together with the second and third respondents, comprise an infringement of the candidates' basic rights to opportunity of religion."
