The President made this known at a supper he facilitated for youthful political representatives at the presidential estate, Abuja, on Wednesday.
Buhari said under him, agribusiness had turned out to be attractive to the point that the individuals who can't land salaried position have taken up cultivating and are receiving the benefit.
He included that his legislature had diminished importation of rice by 90 percent.
"I'm extremely baffled with the Nigerian press. They didn't give this legislature the credit of the `go back to arrive program'," he said.
"We have chopped down the importation of rice by no less than 90 percent… I anticipated our concern in farming and made the best choice and today, individuals are greatly improved.
