Organised Labour Laughs Off FG's 'No Work, No Pay' Rule During Strikes

The Organized Labor says the danger by the Federal Government to actuate the no work, no compensation standard, will be an invalidation of specialists' privilege of affiliation.

Leader of the Nigeria Labor Congress, Mr Ayuba Wabba, put forth the attestation in an announcement on Thursday in Abuja.

Wabba's response pursued the Federal Executive Council's endorsement on Wednesday to apply the no work, no compensation rule amid strikes.

As indicated by Wabba, the privilege to go on a strike is a human and exchange association right and can't be wished away by any administration strategy.

"That is the reason strike is legitimized by our laws and has been practiced since the pilgrim period to date.

"The privilege to strike is the thing that separates a laborer from a slave; simply like the privilege to strike, ideal to picketing, the privilege to work, ideal to challenge and tranquil gathering.

"In this way, the issue of no work, no compensation has dependably existed. It is ethically and lawfully wrong to apply an expression in a collection of law without regarding every other arrangement of a similar law.

Wabba focused on that there were clear techniques given by law on how laborers can leave on a strike, saying "once this legitimate necessity is met, the no work, no compensation control can't have any significant bearing."
