The absconding is contained in a letter sent to the PDP State Chairman, Mr. Paul Ekpo and marked by the legislator himself and made accessible to newsmen in Uyo on Thursday.
Udofia, who did not express the gathering he's absconding to or give an explanation behind his surrender, said thanks to the PDP for the chance allowed him while he was in the gathering.
"I present to you most noteworthy compliments and wish by this correspondence to formally offer to you my renunciation from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
"I joined the PDP and stayed with it despite seemingly insurmountable opposition with the conviction that the gathering will be reasonable for all and reward singular forfeit.
"As I leave the PDP right now, I wish to thank the gathering for profiting me the stage whereupon I am as of now serving this state in the respected limit of the individual from the House of Assembly," Udofia said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Udofia is the fifth official to have absconded from the PDP. (NAN)
