Kelly Ripa Rang In Her 48th Birthday With The Largest Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Cake In The World

Kelly Ripa sure knows how to celebrate her birthday! The daytime talkshow host, who turned 48 on Tuesday, October 2, marked another year of her life with the largest peanut butter and jelly sandwich cake in the world....

The massive dessert was wheeled out to the former soap opera star during the October 2 episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan,

and the look of surprise on Ripa’s face when her cohost rounded the corner with that unique confection was pretty priceless. “Oh my gosh, you are the very best,” Ripa tells Ryan Seacrest, 43, as she gives him a big hug.

And since no peanut butter and jelly sandwich is complete without something to help wash it down, the sweet treat was served alongside two large pitchers of milk.

As for why the former American Idol host opted to make his pal’s cake in the shape of the classic sandwich, he explained to the audience,

“I spent the whole year hearing about Kelly having PB&J in her bed. Her husband [Mark Consuelos] would bring these in, they would eat them and now, this is the world’s largest.”

The mastermind behind this unique cake was Brooklyn-based pastry chef Michael Lechowicz, who owns and operates Charlotte Patisserie, a bakery that specializes in creating theme and one-of-kind desserts.

According to Seacrest, who lauded his cohost for brain a “blessing to us and everybody watching,” the “bread” of this larger than life creation is made of pound cake, while a generous helping of peanut butter and jelly rests in the middle.
