Kayode Fayemi, who was declared the winner of the July election in Ekiti State, has been sworn in as the Governor today in a ceremony which was held today.
The immediate past Minister of Mineral Resources is a native of Isan-Ekiti in Oye Local Government of Ekiti State and was a former governor of the state between 2010 and 2014.
He was defeated by Mr. Ayodele Fayose in 2014. He was sworn in today alongside his Deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola.
It was also gathered that security agencies, comprising the police, Department of State Services(DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) and military concentrated at Okeyinmi, Fajuyi Park and the Secretariat road, where the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, venue of the inauguration, is located.
Vehicles conveying people to the venue are not allowed to go beyond a kilometer to the location to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
