Civil Servant Remanded For Alleged Armed Robbery

A Makurdi Magistrates’ Cloister in Benue, on Tuesday, ordered the adjourn of a 30-year-old civilian servant, Tivlumun Sule, in prison, for declared associates of actionable association and armed robbery.

Plea of the accused who resides at Ter-Makurdi abode Kanshio Makurdi was not taken.

The Magistrate, Mr. Emmanuel Azembe, adjourned the case till Nov. 20 for the added mention.

The Prosecutor, Sgt Ato Godwin, had told the cloister that the accused was arrested afterward an admonition from an ache addition on May 20.

Godwin said the alarm was fabricated by one Ajir Lazarus of Tse-Kembe apple Makurdi.

He said that the addition had declared that he accustomed a blackmail bulletin from the accused, nicknamed ‘Jahrule,’ an affiliate of the Black Skull Fraternity.

The prosecutor said the complainant told the badge that the accused threatened to accord with him as he had mocked him (accused) if he was attempt and injured.

He said the accused mobilized his band members, armed with axes, hammers, butt accouterments and woods, and blocked the complainant at Yaikyo Market.

Godwin said the band associates beggared the complainant of his Itel buzz and N16,100 banknote meant for the acquirement of fertilizer.

The prosecutor said the accused was arrested for the abomination while others were still at large.
Godwin said analysis was advancing and prayed the cloister for addition date for the mention.

He said the answerability contravened Section 11 (2) of Abduction, Kidnapping, Hostage Taking, Secret Band and added agnate Activities (Prohibition) Law, 2017 and Sections 1 of the Robbery and Firearms appropriate accouterment Act, 2004.
