Iain, who talks over the show coverage hosted by Caroline Flack, spelled Love Island wrong in a tweet, leading to several others copying the hashtag.
Love Isand ended up trending on Twitter, with several fans left asking what had gone on.
During the ITV show on Wednesday, one fan asked: “I can't cope with the wrong #hashtag.”
Another tweeted: “Some Love Island fans can’t even spell ‘Island',” as others were forced to “mute” the hashtag.
As others continued to use the hashtag by mistake, some asked who started it off
Iain then confessed he was to blame, after a tweet he sent out to his 109,000 followers.
The tweet read: “Favourite line from tonight’s #LoveIsand “babe you don’t even like him, you can’t say his name.”
Love Island wrote: “Love how #LoveIsand is trending instead of #LoveIsland. Good work guys.”
Iain responded: “Sorry,” as others found the moment hilarious.
Meanwhile, there was plenty of drama during the episode as new girls Georgia Steel and Rosie Williams entered the villa.
