
Troops of the 33 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have uncovered three kidnappers’ dens in Lame-Burra,
Dangarfa and Dangardo forests in Bauchi State, killing one of the fleeing kidnappers.
It was learnt that the troops of 135 Battalion of the brigade, who were deployed for Operation Harbin Kunama on Sunday, stormed the camps and engaged the kidnappers.
It was gathered one suspected kidnapper, 20-year-old Ado Ahmad, was arrested by the troops in Lame-Burra forest.
According to the army, the weapons recovered from the camps are one dane gun, one locally-made gun, one locally-made pistol, 37 empty cases of 7.62mm ammunition, 10 cartridges, and one mobile phone.
He said, “The kidnappers, after sighting the troops, fled, but we arrested one of them, and we will get the others soon. In Mailamba and Gungume villages, we arrested two suspected kidnappers as well – Aminu Kabiru, 34, and Sanni Mohammed, 62.”
It was learnt that the two suspects, who were profiled by the brigade and military police units, were thereafter handed over to the police for further action.
