GIRAFFE'S SON FINALLY HAS A NAME

April the Giraffe's son finally has a name.

Meet Tajiri! The newborn calf has officially been given the Swahili moniker, which means "hope" and stands for "confidence." Fans can call him Taj for short.Fans where expected to submit any name of their choice to nameaprilscalf.com. Submissions cost $1and each with a minimum of five submissions. When voting was over, the zoo shared the top 10 selections and then voting resumed to pick the final name.

Proceeds from the contest are expected to go toward the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, Animal Adventure Park and Ava's Little Heroes, a charity that assists families with medical costs. 

The mother-son duo become such a public sensation at Animal Adventure Park  who hosted a baby-naming contest to let the Internet help name the newborn.
