When asked if mega rally was funded by him personally, the Governor who spoke through his media Adviser, Martins Dickson denied the rumours making the rounds on the matter.
According to a press release on behalf of the Governor, the attention of the Adamawa State Governor Senator Muhammed Umaru Jibrilla has been drawn to a malicious and false publication with the above title in an online news paper,
The News Hulk of Saturday July 21, 2018 in which the writer accused the Governor of anti party activities and sponsoring the Mega rally of the People’s Democratic Party in the state, to honour Atiku Abubakar.
The Governor said the media report was false, malicious, misleading and totally untrue as Governor Bindow is still with the All Progressives Congress, APC and making it the most popular party in Adamawa State.
The Governor denied a secret meeting with an aide of Atiku Abubakar where he donated state funds to the mega rally, According to him there was no such meeting between Senator Jibrilla, or his aides with Alh. Njidda Pariya, a close aide of Atiku Abubakar.
The Governor said such secret meeting only existed in the fictitious imagination of the writer.
Dickson said, “Senator Jibrilla has been attending to serious meetings and other state matters in Abuja and was not in the state to have held such a meeting”.
“There was no transaction on the account of the Adamawa State Government at Zenith Bank on Thursday 19 July, 2018 as claimed by the online paper, and no money was given to the Atiku Abubakar campaign for the mega rally’’.
Observers in Adamawa State however say that there still exist an affinity between Governor Mohammed Jibrilla and the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
