Samira Mighty Leaving Dreamgirls Job For ITV2 Show Is 'Legal Matter' As Producer Of West End Production 'Demands Compensation'

Love Island's Samira Mighty, who has been open on discussing her career as a West End performer on the show, didn’t give sufficient notice when leaving her role in the production, according to The Sun.

The website reports that Sonia Friedman Productions, the producer of the musical, is demanding compensation.

A representative for Sonia Friedman Productions declined to comment when contacted by OK! Online.

A representative for ITV and Love Island confirmed that the situation was a "legal matter" when asked if Samira was aware of the claims.

Samira, who is currently coupled up with Dr. Alex George on the ITV2 show, revealed before she entered the villa that her bosses weren’t pleased about her appearance on the show.

Revealing that she was "mid-contract" when asked to join Love Island, Samira told Metro: "Eek! Someone from last year has joined in straight away.

"I was in ensemble so it was quite easy to fill, I didn’t have a cover that was harder to cast, so someone from last year is doing it now.

"It was win win, if I carried on in Dreamgirls - it’s fantastic and I love it so much - but in five months I may be unemployed again, but [Love Island] was fantastic, I couldn’t turn it down."

She later explained that she was hoping to move into another career after her stint on Love Island comes to a end.

"I’ve done musical theatre for a long time now and I really want to move away from musical theatre," she explained. "I also write my own music and stuff so it would be great to get my music out on YouTube."
