London Fire Detachment said 20 fire motors are at the scene in the upmarket Knightsbridge region of the city.
Thick dark smoke filled the sky from the highest point of the 12-story inn.
One witness said on Twitter: “Fire seen from Hyde Stop. Looks extremely terrible. Petitions to those inside.”
Individuals appreciating the evening daylight in the Imperial stop were seen looking to the sky in stun as smoke surged from the scene.
The Mandarin Oriental already included in Channel 4 narrative, An Extremely English Inn , which saw movie producers go off camera at the selective spot.
Only one night at the inn’s most sumptuous suite can cost £15,000.
Transport for London tweeted the A4 Knightsbridge between A3216 Sloane Road Scotch Corner and A302 Grosvenor Place at Hyde Stop Corner was shut both ways while the crisis administrations react to a building fire.
An announcement discharged by the London Fire Unit (LFB) stated: “Twenty fire motors and around 120 firefighters and officers have been called to a noticeable fire in William Road in Knightsbridge.
“The Detachment’s 999 control officers have taken in excess of 35 calls to the fire, which is creating a great deal of smoke.
