The weekend gave a couple of sweet-bitter memories for Nigerians at their club sides but while some were made to rue losses and nondescript displays. 

Quite some had played starring roles for their teams in a clearly recognizable way. Just how good were the star performers and who were they?

Okeimute Odah (Plateau United): Odah was between the sticks for his club as they dispatched Eding Sport 3-0 in their opening fixture of the CAF Champions League in Jos.

Defenders

Semi Ajayi (Rotherham United): The defender struck the winning goal for the Millers in their 2-1 win over Scunthorpe in the EFL League One.

Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa): The Chelsea loanee put in a full shift for his side in their 1-1 draw with Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Super League.
 

Brian Idowu (Amkar Perm): The Super Eagles defender was in action for his Russian side as they beat Budućnost 3-0 in a tune up game. He had a superb performance.
 

Ola Aina (Hull City): Aina was on from start to finish as The Tigers toppled Nottingham Forest 2-0 in their English Championship clash.
 

Midfielders 

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City): Ndidi stood out as one of the best players in the match despite the Foxes 5-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.

Joel Obi (Torino): Obi helped the Maroons to a 2-0 victory over Udinese in the Italian Series A, making way two minutes after the hour mark.

Folarin Balogun (Arsenal): The Arsenal wonder kid struck twice for the Gunners in a 6-2 mauling of Reading U18s in the Youth Premier League.

Strikers
Ike Ugbo (MK Dons): The young Chelsea striker was on target for his loan side in their 2-1 loss to Portsmouth in the EFL League One.

Taiwo Awoniyi (Royal Excel Mouscron): Awoniyi was involved in all his side's three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) as they fell to a 4-3 loss to Standard Liege in the Belgian First Division.
Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow): Amkar Perm bound Aaron Samuel netted his first hat-trick for CSKA Moscow midweek and was among the scorers as Amkar Perm thrashed FK Budućnost Podgorica 3-0 in a friendly staged in Turkey on Sunday.
