The couple have now split and have begun divorce proceedings after Ben branded their marriage “a chore”.
Days after the news of their divorce emerged, Ben – who has entered Celebrity Big Brother 2018 – revealed he is expecting his first child with a mystery woman.
But what happened between him and Steph, and why did they break-up?
Ben and Stephanie met for the first time when they were at the altar for Channel 4’s Married At First Sight.
The couple were matched by compatibility experts, but stayed together for five months before it came to an abrupt end.
However, weeks before their split Ben only had words of praise for his wife, telling Eamon and Ruth on This Morning he thought his wife was: “Absolutely amazing, absolutely beautiful. The experts done well.”
"Stephanie and I are still friends but I couldn’t give her what she wanted and what she needed, and time is of the essence," he explained.
"And why waste someone’s time if it’s not there?"
He added: "It killed me. After the end of the show we were giving it a go, but as my mum said, you don’t know someone until you've lived with them.
"One of the things I didn’t like was when she said 'You're my husband’, I was like, 'OK, but I’ve got to get to know you first.'"
Just months after splitting from Stephanie, Ben moved on with a mystery woman and the couple are set to welcome their first child together.
Confirming the news to The Sun, he said: “They say 'God loves to turn purposeless chaos into something beautiful' and He (or She!) really has in my life!
"I have been blessed. Out of all the chaos of this past year something beautiful has happened, which I will forever protect and be grateful for.
"I never thought it would happen to me. Everything happens for a reason. It's going to make a man out of me and I'll be a great dad."
Ben has also entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, while Stephanie has remained out of the spotlight.
