Meet 2 Nigerian Grandmothers Arrested For Drug Trafficking

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, officers arrested 2 Nigerian grandmothers, 60yr

Adebayo Ebunoluwa Mercy and a 59yr old Amodu Ayisat Grace, for attempting to traffic 108 wraps of banned substances that tested positive to cocaine and heroin, to New York, United States and Medina, Saudi Arabia respectively.They were arrested during outward screening of passengers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos. A statement released today, NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba, said:
“This will be the first time a grandmother of 60 years will be arrested for ingesting 83 wraps of narcotics weighing 1.105kg. The second suspect was even going to Saudi Arabia where drug trafficking attracts capital punishment, also ingested 25 wraps of cocaine weighing 275 grams.
Adebayo Ebunoluwa Mercy was arrested while boarding a Virgin Atlantic flight to New York while Amodu Ayisat Grace was caught trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight on her way to Medina, Saudi Arabia. The cases are under investigation”.
