As Globe Chamber of Commerce and Industry tends to organize a World Textile and World Shoe Expo, let’s take this opportunity to reflect on the potency of the textile and leather industry to create value and wealth across the continent, with women and youth at the heart of this change.
The Organization believes that the textile and leather industry can drive global industrial transformation and create some of the millions of jobs we need. A stable future depends on the development of labor-intensive sectors like manufacturing and services. Within the manufacturing sector, the organization knows that job creation “from new activities” such as textile design, production and leather industries – also known as creative industries - will result in new trade patterns for African countries.
In addition, the same platform shall be available for fashion designers of traditional fabrics to showcase various designs that can be made from these fabrics, so as to create interaction between the manufacturers, designers and consumers. This is about the need to revive/reinvigorate the value, flair, culture, passion and love for fabrics and shoes which are a large part of global rich heritage. In turn through, strategically increase in the supply and demand of fabrics by both producers and consumers respectively. The focus will not deviate from protecting the global rich heritage, economy, and culture. It is for these reasons the Globe Chamber of Commerce & Industry was prompted to design this historic event.
Worthy of mention also is the fact that global textile and garment industry market is valued around $1.3 trillion which is an impressive figure that is attractive to entrepreneurs. Globe chamber of commerce & industry has design this event to highlights certain steps for exhibitors to take that will enable them succeed in textile and leather market and also reviving the textile factories & industries in Africa.
The World Textile and World Shoe Expo is designed by Globe Chamber of Commerce and it will be held in London, UK from the 5th to the 10th of August 2023.
