The Federal Government yesterday, said that it has not revised supplementary allowances payable to security personnel attached to political, public and Judicial office holders.....
Executive Chairman, National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission, (NSIWC), Dr Richard Onwuka Egbule, who stated this also noted that the Commission’s circular of November 1, 2017 which conveyed government’s approval for the payment of supplementary allowance of N50, 000 per month for officers and N30,000 per month for other ranks of security personnel still stands.
In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary of the Commission, Emma Njoku, said that since 2007 when the last circular was issued, there has not been any other circular to that effect, adding that any other circular to the effect that allowances have been increased is fake.
“The Commission has not issued any circular to revise the supplementary allowances payable to security personnel attached to political, public and Judicial office holders” he said.
Njoku described as fake any circular fraudulently revising the supplementary allowance from N50, 000 to N120,000 per month for officers and from N30,000 to N100,000 per month for other ranks.
“Executive Chairman of the Commission, Dr Richard Egbule, therefore calls on Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to disregard the fake circular and any payments already made or intended to be made on account of it should be reversed immediately and all enquiries should be forwarded to the Commission” he said.
