The Chairman of the board of trustees, Rep Ezenwa Onyewuchi, made the comment in a meeting with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

NAN reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had, on Nov. 27, 2017, set up a 30-man National Minimum Wage Committee headed by previous Head of Service of the Federation, Ms. Amal Pepple.

The panel had suggested a N30, 000 the lowest pay permitted by law for laborers yet the governors, who contended that they were not conveyed along, demanded it would be unthinkable for them to actualize without diminishing their workforce.

Onyewuchi, who speaks to Owerri Municipal/North/West Federal Constituency of Imo State, said when the lowest pay permitted by law alteration bill is sent to them by President Buhari, the National Assembly would do the needful.

"For us, we need to hold up here until the point that the president sends in the alteration charge, it will experience the fundamental of law making; go through the councils at different dimensions.

"We realize how imperative it is; we realize that the specialists are envious of wage increment, particularly the lowest pay permitted by law, which for me as a board of trustees administrator, I think of it as critical," he said.

The legislator said despite the fact that the bill would not discredit the typical administrative investigation, he guaranteed that it would be given a speedy entry.

"What's more, for me, we need a living pay, a wage the laborers can live on.

"Furthermore, basically, I am in help of it in such a case that you take a gander at it on the last May Day, I was the individual that moved the movement on the floor of the House on this equivalent issue of wage increment and the lowest pay permitted by law modification.

"In this way, I think for me, there is have to investigate the lowest pay permitted by law and when it is sent to us, we will give it a speedy entry," he said.

On the December due date given to the Federal Government to finish all transactions, Onyewuchi said "since the constitution makes arrangement for alteration to the Minimum Wage Act, by the day's end, we will locate a shared view to concede to a lowest pay permitted by law for the nation.

"In any case, right now, the issue is still with the tripartite board. I have been advised by the Ministry of Labor and there is by all accounts a few dimensions of difference.

"So I don't expect it will be a restricted thing. It is a procedure; the procedure has begun," Onyewuchi said. (NAN)
