Imo State CP Seek Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders Collaboration To Fight Crime

The Imo Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Ezike, has called on traditional rulers and community leaders to collaborate with the Police to fight crime in their areas and in the state.
The CP, who made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Owerri, declared that police have fought kidnappers to a standstill in the state.
He said crime rate has reduced in the state, but called on traditional rulers and other stakeholders to partner with the police in other to rid the state of crime.
“We are doing our job efficiently, presently we have chased kidnappers away from the state and I tell you that it will be almost impossible to carry out kidnapping operation successfully without being accosted,” he said.

Ezike added that the command has stationed committed officers in strategic areas in other to checkmate crime effectively.
He said there was need for community partnership to enable police locate all the hideouts of hoodlums.
“Police is not a spirit, we cannot know all the hideouts of bad boys in various communities unless the leaders partner with us.
“We will always protect our source of information and we promise to act in accordance with the rule of engagement; so I call on all stakeholders to see us as partners in progress,” he said.
