The show of the second (after the couture one) collection by Raf Simons for Calvin Klein became, perhaps, the most anticipated this season. And not in vain, as time has shown.
Belgian designer has always been attracted to minimalism, which is the DNA of the Calvin Klein fashion house. In the fall-winter joint collection inspired by the old and the new America, with David Bowie’s song ‘This Is Not America’ as part of the soundtrack, he found place for everything that the fashionistas love Raf Simons and cult American brand for. Not only has the designer revised the key codes of the fashion house in a new way – denim, women’s suits and column dresses – he also managed to arrange the bright color and stylistic accents, perfectly complementing the clean lines, which maestro Klein was famous for.
The muted palette was diluted by Raf Simons with emerald green, bright pink, purple, and red shades, as well as with floral prints.
Formal suits with lacquered cowboy shoes and classic coats alternated leather jackets with embroidered roses, and denim overalls went after feather decorated plastic cocktail dresses and printed coats. In one word, Raf Simons seems to have found his element!
