The atmosphere was quite rock-n-roll: the guests of the show were given wristbands – the same as rock fans wear at concerts. They treated themselves to various drinks while the models made their appearance in a special party bus which carried them and the designer across New York.
The Alexander Wang collection has a party vibe, too, it’s bold and free: the designer matches shiny crop tops with leather skirts, embellishes reserved suits with golden zips, combines denim shirts with leather pants, puts some silver trimmings on top of leggings, and ties shirts and blazers on the girls’ hips – as if it became too hot at their favorite band’s concert. Street style outfits were matched with some unusual tiaras with ‘clubbish’ slogans such as ‘Party Animal’, ‘After Party’, or ‘Secret Location’.
The cast was quite spectacular, too: Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter, opened the show – it was her second runway experience at New York Fashion Week. Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, universal appeals, walked the runway for Wang, too.According to Alexander Wang, the well-orchestrated festival concept was his priority. The designer decided to make the show easy of access: the party bus cruised through New York making several stops so that everyone, including bypassers, could enjoy the looks. So, New York was plunged in a joyful party mood. Let’s get the party started – enjoy the show!
