Lebanese designer Elie Saab has a merited reputation of the red carpets’ king. He’s second to none in terms of chic evening gowns.
That’s why even in his ready-to-wear collections the maestro addresses his strongest point, outfits for special occasions. The fall/winter collection was inspired by “Giselle” ballet, a sad story of a peasant girl deceived by her beloved man. Elie Saab expresses the melancholic mood of the ballet though the colors. The sophisticated gowns made of flowing chiffon, velvet and guipure decorated with some delicate laces, intricate embroideries, feathers and exquisite details showcased a whole range of dark shades, such as inky, violet, blue and black. The collection featured only a few powdery pink outfits symbolizing Giselle’s tender beauty
