About to get his British citizenship, the designer was inspired by his Hong Kong childhood and the take on English dress he experienced there. "Hong Kong was half British, so it was reminiscing about my childhood version of that, which was much prettier. The UK is just black and white," he reflected. And so, Lo turned up the volume on the classic British references - Eton, My Fair Lady - in a so-called wedding collection that often looked more like a funeral, Tim Burton style. "A sad wedding, I guess," Lo quipped. He maintained his love for ruched tulle and a small ruffle, but with Stephen Jones' top hats there was definitely a more formal air about Lo's work this season.
