The couple, who have been married for seven years, spank a sex slave, don dominatrix gear and explore a kinky dungeon on the Channel 5 show in a bid to understand how long-term couples spice up their marriages.

Many fans dubbed the episode 'so wrong, yet so funny' - but others were left less than impressed and branded the daytime TV hosts 'demeaning' and 'salacious'.

The show threw Ruth, 57, and Eamonn into the deep end with its first episode, as the couple visited an S&M dungeon and were given a lesson in whipping from Mistress Komakino.

The hosts looked agog as they made their way through the underground chamber, which was filled with sex swings and X-rated contraptions.

Soon dominatrix Komakino ordered them to whip the sex slave - a masked man who was clad in leather trousers.
